fall colored raggedy quilt against brickWith Autumn just around the corner, now is the time to start collecting fall color fabrics so your students can make this charming country fall raggedy quilt! Use this project in your everyday sewing classes, or create a raggedy quilt weekend workshop!

Raggedy quilts are made different than traditional quilts. An “X” is sewn in the center on cut squares of fabric that have three layers, two of the fabric sandwiching a piece of quilt batting that is cut 1″ smaller on all four sides than the fabric squares. Sewing the “X” is the quilting process. Once all the squares are “quilted”, the squares are sewn together to create the quilt. This is a great workshop for your sewing studio! Students love making this quick and easy quilt!
